GROOVE FELLOWSHIP

Influenced by the stylings of Prince, The B-52s, Miles Davis, The Isley Brothers, Cameo, The Yellowjackets, Parliament Funkadelic, John Coltrane, Kraftwerk, Jimi Hendrix, The Police, and all the good stuff played in the eclectic late-night playlist of Detroit’s own Electrifying Mojo in the 80s, Groove Fellowship is an original music group blending funk, rock, R&B and acid jazz into a sound that is completely their own. They have many different musical influences both collectively and individually, but reckon their sound similar to groups like Cameo, 1970s Isley Brothers, Living Color, Ohio Players, and The B-52s.

Band members are life-long Detroiters through and through—living, working, or going to school in the Motor City. They are actively contributing to the grand musical culture and history of Detroit, sourcing locally as well as supporting their local peers in the music industry to elevate the profile of music in and around the Detroit area.

Groove Fellowship is:
Daniel Gamlin, bass guitar/lead vocals (writer/composer)
Kevin Jackson, guitar
Lem Joyner, drums
Tonya V Thomas, band ops manager/agent/promoter
